Let your online Pictures work for you

Your Online Profile Pics

Your online profile says a lot more about you then you think. Anytime we think we might have met somebody special nowadays, we quickly run to the Internet and check what information we can find out about our new friend. It is quite amazing what a simple Google search can come up with. Hell, your MySpace and Facebook alone can make quite an impression.

Your profile gives all sorts of info including work, age, hometown, education, etc. With a few moves, you can check out credit reports and police records. The thing today that I want you to be aware of though, are the basic things a simple search can come up with.
Just so you know or might have an idea about, but are not sure let me set the record straight. People are looking at your pictures. When you meet that other person and they take any interest or curiosity about you, they are going to make a bee-line for your online profiles. Going through endless pictures of you and your boys drunk, waving twenty ounce blue cups are not going to do it. Don’t forget about the pictures you have shirtless in the mirror showing off your two-pack. Nothing says adventure and intrigue more than that.

These kinds of pictures do not say anything about who we are as people. The only qualities these pictures show is our ability to be extremely ordinary and drunk. Any girl that hangs out with me for five minutes can tell I like to drink - I don’t need fifty pictures telling her that.

Think of your profile as an extension and representation of who you are and what you stand for in life. In this day and age, this is sometimes the first thing someone might look at even before meeting you. I know that employers look at these things now. Why wouldn’t a prospective dater?

Most girls will look at your pictures and possibly put themselves in the pictures and wonder what it would be like to be with you doing the things you are doing. Are you smiling and being fun in your pictures? Do you have any pictures of your family? What about the Trekky convention you went to last month? You saved up for a whole year for that trip!

Believe it or not the things that you might find that make you dorky or stand out a bit are the things that make you special and those are the things that should be somewhat prominent in your pictures. You can also put silly captions under them to show your sense of humor and poke fun at yourself. These are the things that make us human. They let people be able to connect with us.

The great thing about this is if you feel that you are misrepresented in your pictures, you can make plans to do some fun things that you might have been putting off. Make plans with the purpose of getting new pictures of yourself having fun!
Here are a few ideas of things to have in your pics.

1.    Friends and family – just a few to show your love for the human race.
2.    Adventure – A few outdoorsy or action pics enjoying the sun.
3.    Out and about town – Mix it up with some pics of you at some interesting events and nightlife.
4.    Travel – it is always good to have a few to show that you can just let go and get away for a while.
5.    Pets – If you have one it are a nice touch to throw a couple of you and man’s best friend.
